CURE Foundation
The CURE Foundation (CURE) is a feminist-activist organization that works for gender equality by advocating for positive social change through educational, artistic-cultural and research programs. By organizing affirmative actions, CURE celebrates the strength and power of women, and works to empower people in order to become initiators of social change in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world. CURE is an organization of professionals and volunteers who take to the streets as a sign of public protest against violence, discrimination, violations of laws and basic human rights, organize performances against violence, invite artists, scientists, educators, activists, citizens to action and concrete personal contribution to create a better and healthier Bosnian society.

The mission
As a leading incubator of feminist ideas, the CURE Foundation is dedicated to empowering, supporting, and creating a safe space for all women, girls, activists, and feminists—through an innovative combination of informal educational programs, targeted research, and strong advocacy. Expanding its activities at both local and regional levels, the Foundation builds solid networks that encourage active and responsible participation in social change.
Our mission is focused on advancing the holistic security of women—in economic, social, environmental, and political spheres—ensuring their presence and influence in peacebuilding processes and the development of an inclusive, sustainable women’s movement. Through engaged art and activism, we inspire key social changes, advocating for a safer and more just world where every woman has the opportunity to realize her full potential.

The Vision
The CURE Foundation envisions a society free from violence and discrimination—a society where safety, equality, and the empowerment of women and girls, especially those from marginalized groups, are systemically supported. By building a strong, informed, and intergenerational women’s movement, the Foundation promotes the concept of holistic security and the equal participation of women in all spheres of decision-making.
From 2024 to 2026, our focus is on a comprehensive approach that addresses the causes and consequences of gender-based violence, empowers women, protects the environment, education, and health, and strengthens women’s political engagement. Our work is grounded in the principles of intersectionality, inclusivity, and social justice—with the aim of creating sustainable change and advancing feminist policies and practices.
