Public statement on the occasion of the Women’s March on Washington (USA) January 21st 2017
On the occasion of the Women’s March on Washington (USA) and March against fascism Belgrade (Serbia) scheduled for January 21st 2017 CURE Foundation expresses its full support to women and men, trans* persons and gender non-conforming persons that will on that day raise they their voices in protection our theirs, ours and your rights.
In times when conservative political movements and radical right movements that are basing their power on neglecting the rights of others and different are gaining power, unity and solidarity of all democratic, human rights and peace movements is our main priority.
We activists of CURE Foundation are solidarizing ourselves with our sisters from the United States of America, from the region and the whole world who are courageously standing in the defense of women’s rights, socially marginalized groups, for peace and non-violence in all communities throughout the world.
On this occasion we are fully endorsing and joining the Principles of Women’s Unity for which our sisters in America are marching.
We are using this opportunity to express our women’s and feminist solidarity with women in conflict zones in Syria, Iraq, Kurdistan, Turkey, Palestine, Congo, Russia, and especially our solidarity goes to women from minorities such as ethnical, religious and national groups, women in process on migrations, women in refugee camps and women prisoners of their homes.
CURE Foundation condemns all forms of violence and discrimination against women, calls upon the adoption of ZERO tolerance against all forms of violence against women and girls and calls upon governments to involve women in all stages of peace negotiating processes.
CURE Foundation informs the public that our request for ending violence against women’s rights will be presented during our march on the occasion of the 8th of March 2017 and hereby we invite all citizens to join us in our struggle for the equality of all women and girls in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
