About CURE Foundation:
CURE Foundation (CURE)is a feminist-activist organization which promotes gender and sex equality and works for positive social changes through educational, cultural and research programs. By organizing affirmative action CURE celebrates the strength and power of women, and helps empowering individuals, so that they can become initiators of social changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world. The feminist activism has created a safe area, in which the women are strong, fearless, competent, and united with all their differences. CURE is an organization of professionals and volunteers who go out on the streets as a sign of protest against violence, discrimination, violation of laws and basic human rights. Furthermore, CURE organizes art performances against violence, invites artists, scholars, lecturers, activists, and citizens to act, participate, and contribute in creating a better, sounder Bosnian-Herzegovinian society.
About the ToR for creation of research:
CURE Foundation wants to hire two experts who have experience in researching and working on the subject of LBT women, discrimination, stereotypes and prejudices this marginalized category goes through in the context of need and everyday existence. CURE Foundation wants to hire two persons who would do research in the following period that would be completed in June 2018 and which CURE Foundation would use to lobby state institutions to make changes and whose data would serve to create a video aimed at highlighting the needs of LBT* women in BiH. One person from the team would perform the analysis and the second person would create the overall background, conclusion and edit and finalize the research.
The research will consist of the analysis of everyday needs of LBT* women with focus on health, employment, economic position, freedoms, discrimination, violence and alike. The research will be conducted and finalized in Bosnian language.
Research structure:
The research will have the following structure:
– Introduction, Context
– Work methodology
– Analysis
– Conclusion
Goal:
– Work on the development of research that will focus on highlighting the needs of LBT* women in today's BiH society
Work load:
– Meetings with the CURE Foundation as needed during the preparation of the research (via e-mail or live).
– Creating and finalizing the research following the instructions of CURE and ToR
Honorarium:
The fee for the person who is going to do the analysis is 1500,00 BAM net, while the editor and co-researcher will receive 800 BAM net.
The fee is going to be calculated by the number of days worked on the research, and paid after the final version of the research is submitted together with the Time Sheets.
Timeline of research:
-until June 18, 2018 sending the first draft for comments and suggestions of the project team
-until June 30, 2018 sending the finalized research after comments
-until July 15, 2018 edit and final version of the report
Necessary skills and competencies:
– Possessing knowledge in the field of LGBTI rights, discrimination against LGBTI people, stereotypes and prejudices, gender-based violence, gender, education system
– Developed interpersonal skills
– Developed communication and presentation skills
– Knowledge of work and context in the LGBTI community
Preferred skills and experience:
– Experience in writing manuals and research on the same or similar topics
– The person has experience in working on LGBTI issues
