CURE

CURE Foundation is a feminist-activist organization that operates for the equality of sexes and genders pleading for positive social changes through educational, artistic, cultural and research programs.

What we do

The CURE Foundation develops a solidary and inclusive women’s movement, a movement that unites all women, regardless of their identities, in order to work together towards a society without patriarchal norms, and with ZERO tolerance for violence and discrimination.

By providing affirmative action, the CURE Foundation celebrates women’s strength and power and works on empowering people so they could become initiators of social changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.

Generating new ideas, solving big problems

We listen to each other and learn from our experiences. Every opinion is important because it represents the way how we can overcome every obstacle. We collectively act for each of us, and each of us acts for the collective.

Why we are different

Active and recognized as the leaders of numerous initiatives within the women's movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we stand for the detabooization of certain topics within society in general. The CURE Foundation is primarily focused on working with women and girls, spreading knowledge about women's rights and activism, and strengthening the visibility of the role of women and girls in society.

With our work, we encourage a new generation of feminists and activists, and we work to strengthen the women's movement through different approaches and intergenerational solidarity.

Our latest activity

By combining open activism, cooperation with institutions and networking in BiH and in the region, the CURE Foundation’s activities include a wide range of target groups and a large part of the public.

The Vision

The CURE Foundation advocates for the equality of women and girls in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those from socially marginalized groups, for a society without patriarchal norms, in which violence and discrimination are not tolerated and where women are recognized as responsible initiators and bearers of positive social changes, and they make decisions equally in society.

The CURE Foundation strives to contribute to the creation of a sustainable and solidary women’s movement that respects generational and all other differences, has the capacity, knowledge and strength to initiate, support and present processes that will lead to the improvement of the position of women, as well as other marginalized social groups.

A few words from our staff

“The networking of women’s formal and informal groups is the key to the development of a strong women’s movement, the inclusion of all women and girls, the strengthening of mutual solidarity and individual activism to protect women’s rights and promote women’s perspective on current social and political issues.”

Selma Hadžihalilović

Coordinator of the Women's Network of BiH, CURE Foundation

“The CURE Foundation paved the way for me and gave me a safe space to combat stereotypes and prejudices, and to encourage women and girls to be leaders of positive changes.

Vedrana Frašto

Program manager, CURE Foundation

“For me, the PitchWise (PW) festival is the best event of the whole year organized by the CURE Foundation because we celebrate generations of women who are changing history and through the combination of activism and art we have the opportunity to change patriarchal attitudes, thinking, stereotypes and prejudices about the social position of women.”

Saša Radulović

Coordinator for work with volunteers, CURE Foundation

“Speak up about violence because violence is not a private matter and there is no justification for violence!”

Medina Mujić

Spokeswoman, CURE Foundation

“I am happy to work in an organization that deals with the protection and improvement of the rights of marginalized groups in our society.“

Enida Čamdžić

Project Coordinator, CURE Foundation

“Activist and feminist events moved from the offline to the online sphere of activity during the pandemic caused by Covid-19. Can you imagine what battles are fought online? We occupy the online space, we oppose oppression and retrograde policies, women’s voices resonate, and we create a space of feminist resistance! From common girls of the streets to rebels on the Internet!” #always_disobedient
