Over the last six months, the EWL has taken a very active role within  the expert Working Group chaired by Andrea Murray from the UK Equality  and Human Rights Commission, and is very pleased with the results.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, the Opinion gives a clear definition of violence  against women which includes all forms of such violence, conforming with  international standards. The proposed Strategy is envisioned within a  human rights framework and the link is clearly made with the EU\u2019s  existing commitments to equality between women and men.<\/p>\n<p>The Opinion advocates strongly for the Strategy to provide a  comprehensive framework for combatting violence against women. The  actions put forward cover the so-called \u2019five Ps\u2019: Provision,  Prosecution, Prevention, Protection and Partnership.
