Selma Had\u017eihalilovi\u0107 is a feminist activist with almost 29 years of activist experience. At the age of 17, she joined the then only women’s organization that provided support to women survivors of war rape in wartime BiH, which led her to dedicate her life entirely to the promotion and protection of the rights of women and girls. During her activist career, Selma has addressed issues such as women’s empowerment in local communities, violence against women, the right to conscientious objection to military service and the protection of deserters, women’s political participation, feminist activism, human trafficking prevention, sexual reproductive health and else. A polyglot who actively speaks English, French and German, Selma had the opportunity to visit women around the globe and discuss the consequences of patriarchy and violence against women. As a Person of Trust, Selma is socially active and often initiates solidarity actions for parents of children with disabilities, single mothers, LBT* disadvantaged women, and migrants. She believes in lifelong learning, and has studied political science, feminist studies, Islamic science, and feels good in tourism management where gender-responsive tourism is especially important to her. Selma works for the CURE Foundation where she coordinates advocacy projects and administers the BiH Women\u2019s Network, and she is part of the public relation team. Selma is a member of several international women\u2019s peace building and feminist networks. She has received the prestigious Clyde Snow Social Justice Award.<\/p>\n
